What You Can Expect

As the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel, you will be responsible for navigating legal complexities, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks within the renewables sector. Additionally, you will act as the Deputy Ethics Officer, overseeing and addressing ethics matters to uphold the highest standards of conduct and integrity within the organization. You will report to the Chief Legal and Ethics Officer for ENGIE North America and can work from Houston, Texas or Westminster, Colorado (other locations may be considered). Each day, you will lead a team of legal professionals, you will provide guidance, support, and strategic direction to ensure alignment with business objectives and legal requirements.

What You’ll Bring

You must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school You must be licensed to practice law in at least one state in the United States (preferably Texas, California, Colorado or New York) A minimum of ten (15) years of combined legal experience in the United States with a law firm or major corporate legal department; practice with a top-tier firm and combination of outside counsel and prior in-house experience is beneficial to the success of this role Expertise around the energy industry with a company focusing on renewable energy or energy efficiency is beneficial to the success of the role Management of outside counsel for legal matters related to Renewables Global Business Unit in the US and Canada Ability to analyze complex business situations, taking into account business drivers, to develop risk mitigation recommendations in a commercially minded manner Able to clearly explain risks, advise on both commercial and associated legal consequences and exercise sound judgement on difficult issues

Compensation

Salary Range: $232,900 – $341,500 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
